Chen Youquan, deputy director of the Department of Planting Management of the Ministry of Agriculture, said at the on-site meeting of the national green prevention and control of crop diseases and insect pests held in Mianyang, Sichuan recently that green prevention and control effectively guaranteed the quality and safety of agricultural products, promoted the scientific use of pesticides, and achieved comprehensive economic, social and ecological benefits. The practice in Sichuan, Jiangsu, Beijing and other provinces and cities shows that the use of pesticides has been reduced by about 30% by adopting green prevention and control technology and comprehensive prevention and control technology.

Chen Youquan said that the Ministry of Agriculture has decided to promote the green prevention and control of pests and diseases as an important part of promoting the green development of agriculture, and earnestly do a good job in 150 green pilot counties and cities and 600 demonstration bases for the integration of green prevention and control and unified prevention and control, accumulate experience and accelerate the promotion. At the same time, promote the combination of agricultural science, education and enterprises, accelerate the research and development of new products and technologies for green prevention and control, and integrate a number of green prevention and control technology models with more obvious characteristics, stronger pertinence and easier operation.
