Power has been improved, and pictures of the new Porsche sports car have been exposed
Although its entry-level car series is not outstanding in the Porsche family, its excellent handling pleasure makes it no less loved than Porsche’s most classic 911 car series. Recently, Porsche announced pictures of the new 09 Boxster, which will be officially launched at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.
The new 09 Porsche Boxster’s front design is inspired by the slightly modified headlights and features a trapezoidal air inlet, which is significantly different from the oval hole of the current model. At the rear, the Boxster retains the original two exhaust pipes. The biggest change is the taillights, which are not only lighter and smaller than normal light bulbs, but also respond more quickly to pedals.
About the engine. Like the 911 facelift, the 09 Boxster will have a direct injection engine. Although its relevant data is not yet clear, looking at the power output of the engine that also uses direct injection technology, it is not difficult to guess that the power of the new Boxster will increase by about 13%, while the fuel consumption will be reduced by 15%. In line with the new 911, the Boxster’s interior will have a new look: a hard drive-based satellite navigation system, and a larger display screen.
"Old Boxster"
Porsche’s seven-speed drivetrain has been confirmed on the Boxster. The new 911, which will be unveiled in June 2008, is Porsche’s first model with a drivetrain. It is said to improve performance with a fast gear lever, and its economy is greatly improved. (Text/Li Xiaolei)
